USB Flash Drives (updated 9/10/09)

At this time, we are not planning to sell USB flash drives from the school itself.

Google Apps for Students

The school has activated Google Apps service for all 5th through 12th grade students.  Google Apps will provide:
  • Google Apps for CSH Students home page,
  • a convenient Start Page or portal providing a quick overview of appointments, weather conditions, email inbox, and other information, 
  • email via Gmail,
  • Google Calendar for tracking school activities, and
  • Google Docs for online document, spreadsheet and presentation editing, storing and viewing.

We believe this service will improve communication between students and teachers, help students with planning and scheduling their activities, and aid with transporting assignments between home & school by allowing many assignments to be completed on-line (thus possibly eliminating the need to print an assignment at home) plus reduce file format compatibility issues.

Instructions for signing in will be included in the folders going home with students this Friday.  A screenshot walk-through is available below.  The screenshot images are much easy to read when the presentation is opened in a new window (button to the right of the slide number).

As the Director of Media & Technology at CSH, I do the following:
  • provide overall direction for computer/technology use at the school
  • conduct professional development workshops for faculty and staff on computer technology topics
  • provide guidance as requested on using & integrating computer/technology into classroom instruction
  • repair and troubleshoot school computers
  • purchase computer and technology equipment
  • manage Internet access and web content filtering
  • administer the computer network

My Background

For those interested, my background includes:
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics Minor, from Pensacola Christian College
  • almost 20 years professional work experience in Information Technology at companies in various industries: steel manufacturing, insurance, retail
  • worked with computers in some way for almost three decades
