Elementary
Program
General
Grades K-5 are considered elementary grades
and are in a traditional classroom setting with one main teacher in the class
responsible for all academic areas. Part-time staff offer assistance each
week in the areas of physical education and art.
The goal of our elementary program is to
build a solid foundation upon which all other learning is based and prepare
students for the increased challenges of the junior and high school
years. Therefore, the curriculum
focuses on mastery of basic skills in math, reading, language arts, science and
social studies. All subjects are taught from a Biblical perspective by
certified, Christian teachers who are responsible for integrating faith and
learning.
Kindergarten
is a very special time - the beginning of your child's formal education.
We want this to be a fun, positive, successful experience for each student.
Kindergarten meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday full days. Students
must be five by November 15th.
K4
(Pre-Kindergarten)
CSH offers a K4 program
for children who reach the age of 4 by November 15th. K4 meets on
Tuesdays and Thursday mornings from 8:15-11:20 and afternoons 12:15-3:05.
In both K4 and K5, God's Word will be
central in all areas. There will be exciting lessons daily that teach
children how to think, grow, know and live "God's way". Content
and applications will be taught through Bible lessons, character stories,
music, activities and memory work.
